PERUMIN: a Platform from Peru to the World

PERUMIN is the result of efforts driven by generations of professionals in Peruvian mining. Since its first edition in 1954, PERUMIN’s vision and contributions have been geared toward consolidating a leading mining industry that serves as a management model in Peru and around the world.

Its adaptation to the challenges of the industry has been ongoing. To its technical approach, focused on strengthening and training professionals, PERUMIN has progressively added programs and platforms to foster the analysis of broader industry-related issues. These include sectoral policy, the economy, environmental and ecosystem matters, international markets, competitiveness, innovation and technology, social management, equity, and inclusion, among others.

This evolution has steadily increased attendance to the event, attracting mining professionals from across Peru and the world. Today, PERUMIN brings together major mining corporations, suppliers, investors, government authorities, public officials, academics (both faculty and students), civil society representatives, and multilateral organizations, with international delegations coming from all five continents.

With over 70 years as part of the history of our mining conventions, PERUMIN 37 aims to be a platform for fostering cohesion among stakeholders from diverse sectors and backgrounds whose mission is to promote sustainable mining that generates well-being and benefits communities.

For Peru, this is a critical goal as we approach an electoral process that will be crucial to our nation’s future. With our vast geological potential and a robust portfolio of mining investment projects, Peru plays a key role in supplying the minerals needed for the global energy transition. It is an opportunity we must seize while addressing persistent challenges such as illegality and bureaucratic inefficiencies.
